Rector of Constantine the Philosopher University
Prof. RNDr. Libor Vozár, CSc. was born on July 13, 1961 in Bratislava. He graduated in Physics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Comenius University in Bratislava, in 1984. He earned his doctoral degree in Physical and Mathematical Sciences at the Institute of Physics, Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava in 1992, and his associated professorship and later professorship in the field of Physics of Solids at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Slovak Technical University in Bratislava in 1995 and 2002.
His scientific and teaching affiliation is with the Department of Physics, Faculty of Natural Sciences. His foreign study stays and work placements were in Forschungszentrum Seibersdorf in Austria, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, University of Stirling and University of Edinburgh. He is member of a number of expert groups and scientific councils. On the University level, he worked as Chairman of the Academic Senate, Vice-Rector for Development, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, and Rector of the University. On the national level, he worked as President of the Council for Higher Education, President of the Agency for Research and Development and President of the Slovak Rectors' Conference.
He was elected Rector of Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra on July 3, 2018.
