Faculty of Arts
The Faculty of Arts was established in 1998 by renaming the former Faculty of Humanities (1993). Since its inception, it has dynamically established itself as a modern educational, scientific and artistic institution in the full range of its offering. Today, it is an advanced and respected educational institution in the European Academic Area.
The main mission of the Faculty is to prepare the experts in science, culture, media and arts, provide education to the employees of state and public administration and social institutions, and prepare the teachers for senior elementary and secondary schools. The Faculty provides all three levels of university study: Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral. It creates the conditions for a flexible selection of study programs, academic subjects, specialized (selective, optional) lectures and seminars. The students can apply for fellowships and exchange stays at foreign universities.
The key educational objectives of the Faculty are closely tied with the research activities of its staff and students. The basic and applied research at the Faculty covers a wide range of sciences mainly in the area of humanities and social sciences, as well as innovations in the teaching methods. Through research and cultural–educational projects, the latest research findings are presented at numerous scientific conferences and in valuable publications.

It supports and organizes the cooperation and exchange of information and students with international organizations and it cooperates with many European and non-European educational and research institutions.
