Collaboration with a professor from Saudi Arabia
On December 2, 2024, the Vice-rector for international relations, Assoc. Prof. Martina Pavlíková, PhD., MBA, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Science and Informatics Prof. RNDr. František Petrovič PhD., MBA have meet Prof. Abdel Halim Harratha, PhD. from the King Saud University (KSU), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia with his long-time collaborator Prof. Alexander Sirotkin, DrSc.
Cooperation with KSU started in 2011, where prof. A.H. Harratha suggested Prof. A. Sirotkin the joint study of regulators of female reproductive processes and in 2012 - position of the Guest professor in College of Science of KSU.
Joint projects of Professors Sirotkin and Harrath
In February 2014, Prof. A. Sirotkin had stayed at KSU, where he delivered lectures to PhD students of College of Science and showed some methods of study of reproductive system. In 2016 and 2017 along International Scientific Partnership Program KSU he was a co-supervisor of KSU PhD students A.K.A. Alrazaghui and M.K. Kohailana.

Prof. Sirotkin and prof. A.H. Harrath submitted to KSU in 2012 several joint research projects: „Influence of oil-related environmental pollutants on female reproduction: action, mechanisms and molecules preventing negative effects“ and „“Malnutrition during pregnancy and the susceptibility to develop infertility and ovarian cancer in females of new generations: morphological, histological and molecular investigations.”, in 2014 - research project „Involvement of oil-related environmental pollutants in the development of ovarian disorders, infertility and ovarian cancer: actions and mechanisms.“, in 2018 - the joint project „Involvement of oil-related environmental pollutants in the development of ovarian disorders and infertility in offspring and the potential protective role of the medicinal plant Salvia officinalis“ and in 2019 - research project entitled „Involvement of oil-related pollutants in the development of ovarian disorders, infertility and ovarian cancer: actions and mechanisms“.
From 2019 Prof. Sirotkin was invited several times to join the commission of KSU for professorship as reviewer and evaluator. Along collaboration with KSU, Prof. A Sirotkin and Prof. A.H. Harrathom generated a number of joint research papers and reviews, which were published in the international journals at Q1 and Q2 levels.
Because of these publications, both Prof. A. Sirotkin and Prof. A. H. Harrath in 2022 reached the level of the top 2% of scientists in their areas of study according to database of Stanford university and Elsevier.
In March 2018 and December 2024, Prof. A. H. Harrath visited Research Institute of Animal Production and KSU, delivered lectures in area of physiology and pathology of reproductive system, met representatives of Rectorate and Faculty of Natural Science and Informatics and discussed possibility and forms of further collaboration with CPU. Furthermore, he learned methods of culture and analysis of ovarian cells which are used in CSU. Finally, he together with specialists from CSU, settled up the joint experiment to examine some intracellular regulators of ovarian functions. Ovaries of camels were delivered Prof. A. H. Harrath from Saudi Arabia.
During the visit of prof. A.H. Harrath to CPU, it was stated, that we will generate and submit the new joint research projects in Saudi Arabia, as well as to continue our collaboration in area of biology of reproduction and Erazmus KA 171.
