Long-term cooperation with Georgia

In 2019 professors Alexander Sirotkin and Roman Králik were invited to participate 9th Eurasian Multidisciplinary Forum, which was held in the Georgian city Batumi. It was a meeting of scientists working in various areas. The invitation to this forum was arranged by Assoc. Prof. Miroslav Tvrdoň and Prof. Roman Králik during their previous visit to Georgia  for specialists from Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra (CPU).
The lecture by Professor A. Sirotkin on the influence of nutrition on reproduction was followed by further negotiations, which culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between CPU and Tbilisi State Medical University (TSMU).
After signature of this agreement, the cooperation between CPU and TSMU was continued by invited lectures of professor A. Sirotkina in TSMU concerning regulators of reproduction for students, PhD students and teachers of TSMU, as well as with informations concerning  structures and activities of TSMU and CPU.
In 2022  three professors from TSMU visited UKF, where he met the representatives of the rectorate and of the Faculty of Natural Science and Informatics of CPU. During this meeting, the representatives of TCMU and CPU agreed the participation of CPU representatives UKF (Mgr. Z. Fábová and Mgr. B. Loncová) on the workshop, which was organized by TSMU 01-07.10.2023, co-supervisorship of PhD student of TSMU by specialists from TSMU and CPU, as well as the joint studies of influence of COVID-19 on the activities of the two universities, which was culminated by publication of the joint full paper in the international journal indexed in SCOPUS and Web of Science.
In 2023 Profesor A. Sirotkin was solemnly chosen as a member of Georgian academy of preventive medicine.
At present the next joint research project is taking place in both TSMU and UKF. This project is focused on comparing the nutrition of Slovak and Georgian students. Later other universities in Slovakia and abroad have joined this research project.
The representatives of CPU were invited to the next workshop organized by TSMU, which should be held in 2025.
Take together, cooperation between CPU and TSMU enabled:
  • Visibility of CPU and its studies outside of  EU
  • Realization of the two jpoint research projects and the publication of their results
  • The joint supervision of a Georgian PhD. student
  • Participation of representatives of CPU in activities of TSMU, Georgian academy of preventive medicine and workshops organized by TSMU
  • Getting to know the unique Georgian culture and nature.
