UKF cooperation with Hassan II University of Casablanca
Two colleagues from Hassan II University of Casablanca, Morocco, Dr. Khalid Lahlou and Dr. Abderrahim Chelfaouat, made a visit to UKF in Nitra, Slovakia, for a teaching mobility that lasted ten days, from October 9th to 18th, 2024. This visit was made possible through the Erasmus+ KA171 project. International collaboration with this partner university was initiated by Professor Roman Kralik from Faculty of Arts.
The first day was characterized by an official meeting bringing together the UKF Vice-Rector for International Relations Assoc. Professor Martina Pavlikova, PhD., MBA., with the two scholars Dr. Lahlou and Dr. Chelfaouat. The meeting was an opportunity to discuss, and explore, further possibilities of cooperation between the Slovak University and its Moroccan counterpart. In this respect, both parties agreed to strengthen this cooperation by their mutual engagement to conducting joint academic research, publishing co-authored articles and co-supervising PhD. dissertations. During their teaching mobility in Nitra, the two Moroccan scholars also met with the Vice Dean for International Cooperation of Faculty of Arts, Dr. Daša Novačikova.
The two Moroccan scholars delivered a series of lectures for students belonging to different departments. The lectures mainly dealt with such topics as ‘The Role of Culture in Strengthening Identity’ delivered to the English and American Studies Department and ‘un apercu sur l’art marocain: les tapis traditionnels’ presented to the German and Romance Languages, and ‘Media Literacy’ delivered to the Department of Journalism and New Media. The aforementioned lectures were an occasion to share, and exchange ideas, with Slovak students.
Besides their teaching mobility, the two Moroccan researchers toured the beautiful city of Nitra and were so impressed by its wonderful landscape.The Moroccan guests were pleased with the sense of professionalism, enthusiasm, generosity and hospitality of their Slovak hosts. For them, the teaching mobility to Nitra was an unforgettable one and will long be engraved in their memories.
