Nineteen students of social work from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Health Care from 11.6.-18.6.2024 completed a short-term Erasmus+ traineeship in Malaga. They went on mobility together with the vice-dean for external relations and development PhDr. Katarína Minarovičová, PhD. at the invitation of prof. José García Martin, Director of the Sociedad Hispánica de Amigos de Kierkegaard in Malaga. The theme of the Erasmus+ mobility was social work in Malaga with a focus on the position of the individual in society in the philosophical context of Soren Kierkegaard. The Erasmus+ traineeship also included a visit to the University of Malaga, where they were welcomed by the dean of the Faculty of psychology and speech therapy, prof. María Isabel Hombrados Mendieta, prof. Marina Calleja Reina from the Department of psychology and the vice -dean for the Internationalisation of Social Studies, prof. María Luisa Gómez Jiménez, who expressed their interest in collaborating with the Faculty of Social Sciences and Health Care within the Erasmus+ programme.
Another organisation the students visited was Fundación Héroes, an NGO working with children at risk of social exclusion. The organisation also provides social and health assistance to people with physical and mental disabilities. The students had the opportunity to see how social work and the work of psychologists, therapists and special educators work with several groups of clients.
Thanks for arranging the visit and cooperation with prof. José García Martín to the Vice-Rector for International Relations Assoc. Martina Pavlíková PhD and prof. ThDr. PaedDr. Roman Králik, ThD. Thanks to their help and support, the internship could be realized in the scope and quality, which was very positively appreciated by the students. For the administrative support we would like to thank the staff of the International Relations Department Ing. Katarína Butorová, PhD., Mgr. Pavel Vakoš and Mgr. Michaela Ivaničová.
The students came to personally thank the vice-rector doc. PhDr. Martina Pavlíková PhD. for allowing them to go on an interesting Erasmus+ traineeship, which brought them a lot of new experiences.
