International project at Faculty of Natural Sciences and Informatics
The international project <colette/> Computational Thinking Learning Environment for Teachers in Europe has been running at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Informatics of the University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra since 2020 and is scheduled to end in August 2023.
The main goal of the project was to prepare an environment for the development of computational thinking tasks in the education of mathematics, computer science and science. The environment was being piloted in cooperation with the Gymnasium Nitra, Golianova str. The developed application and the web portal for creating tasks were presented at a conference for teachers, which took place on 16-18 July 2023 at Johannes Kepler University in Linz, Austria.
Workshops on the use of the developed system were led by the project partners. The Slovak team was represented by Mgr. Martin Cápay, PhD. from the Department of Informatics, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Informatics, CPU in Nitra. The conference was attended by more than 40 teachers from partner countries, including 20 teachers of mathematics, informatics and science from lower- and upper-secondary schools from all over Slovakia. In addition, the event was also attended by 2nd year students of mathematics and informatics teaching, Marián Ďurina and Viktor Zsidek, and a PhD student in the theory of mathematics education, PaedDr. Katarína Laššová.
The project is coordinated by prof. Matthias Ludwig from Goethe University Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Project partners include J. Kepler University in Linz, Austria, Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 in France and Utrecht University in the Netherlands. The responsible researcher from CPU is doc. PaedDr. Janka Medová, PhD. from the Department of Mathematics and the deputy Mgr. Martin Cápay, PhD. from the Department of Informatics of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Informatics CPU in Nitra.
