The success of the Hungarian Choir UKF at the festival
In total, fourteen choirs took part in the event including the Hungarian Choir of the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra.
“Kodály’s Days” are one of the largest home events, where the choir, which is led by Mónika Józsa already for 30 years now, received the Golden Award with the praise of the jury, as well as a special award from the ATEMPO.sk Music and Culture Portal: a year-round free media support.
The choirmaster, Mónika Józsa, was also awarded for her outstanding artistic performance.

The opening of the festival took place on Friday and was conducted with the Exhibition of Zoltán Kodály’s life and work at the municipal office in Galanta, furthermore with a solemn concert at the Roman Catholic church in Diakovce.
The qualifying competition of the singing choirs took place on Saturday in the theatrical room of the Cultural Centre in Galanta. Within the competitive program of the Hungarian choir of the CPU in Nitra, on the flute cooperated Júlia Csető, on the piano was playing Mgr. Marek Štrbák, PhD.
On Saturday evening, the university choir performed in the Neo-Gothic Esterházy Chateau in Galanta, together with the Zoltán Kodály Choir from Galanta. The culmination of the three-day festival “Kodály’s Days” was the Sunday wreath-laying ceremony at the monument to Zoltán Kodály in the park of the Neo-Gothic Castle and the afternoon gala program, where all the competitors, as well as guest choirs, performed. Following the announcement of the results, the three-day choir competition ended with a joint performance by all the participating choirs.
