Diversity in English Language Teaching
The Department of English Language and Culture in cooperation with Language Planet and the Department of English and American Studies celebrated Teacher´s Day by the event Diversity in English Language Teaching at the premises of the Faculty of Education.
The day started with the Treasure Hunt that was organized by the students of the Department of English Language and Culture for the children from our training schools. They had to fulfill English tasks in order to get clues for the English treasure. The afternoon was devoted to our students – future English teachers and teacher trainers. Presentations and workshops provided the wide portfolio of various teaching procedures, results and recommendations from the professionals working in public or private sectors. The aim of this event was to present diverse possibilities for our graduates after finishing their university studies.
The highlight of the programme was Mária Podhradská alias Spievanka who teaches English to very young learners in an inspiring way. The other distinguished guests shared their working experience and contributed with their presentations towards enrichment in professional growth of not only our students, but also teacher trainers and university teachers. We believe that this event becomes a tradition and this annual platform will serve as a bridge between the theoretical and practical English teacher preparation.
