Rector of UKF, prof. RNDr. Libor Vozár, CSc., received on November 28 the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria, H.E. Mag. Margit Bruck-Friedrich, MA., who visited the university accompanied by Mrs. Katarína Lesná from the Austrian Cultural Forum. The Vice-rector for international relations, Assoc. Prof. PhDr. Martina Pavlíková, PhD., Dean of the Faculty of Arts, prof. PhDr. Martin Hetényi, PhD., and the Deputy head of the Department of Romance Languages and German Studies of the Faculty of Arts, Mgr. Ervín Weiss, PhD.

The subject of the work meeting was the UKF's international cooperation with universities and other institutions in Austria. Another important aspect of the work meeting was the discussion about the current possibilities of studying the German language at the Faculty of Arts, which was presented to the Ambassador by the Deputy head of the Department of Romance Languages and German Studies, Mgr. Ervín Weiss, PhD.

Dr. Weiss emphasized the importance of knowledge of the German language within the Nitra region, as well as the need to raise awareness of the offer of German studies at the Faculty of Arts of the UKF in Nitra for students of secondary grammar schools and other secondary schools. The attractiveness of German lies in its subsequent application in practice, for example in industry, tourism, but also in the work of nurses in German-speaking countries. One of the current visions of the Department of Romance Languages and German Studies of the Faculty of Arts is the possibility of creating a possibility of combined study of nursing with German language.

At the end of the work meeting, the Ambassador expressed her gratitude for the well-prepared summary of UKF´s international cooperation with Austrian universities and other institutions and offered the Embassy's cooperation to UKF in various aspects within the framework of education, culture and art.
