The Department of English and American Studies at Faculty of Arts is one of those university departments that significantly develop international cooperation of Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra (UKF). Based on the international activities of Associate Professor Maria Hrickova a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between UKF and Saurashtra University, Rajkot, India.

On 6 May 2021 University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra and Saurashtra University, Rajkot, India signed the Memorandum of Understanding. Memorandum was signed by the representatives of both universities, the rector of UCP, prof. RNDR. Libor Vozár, CSs. and the Vice-Chancellor of Saurashtra University, Dr. Nitin Pethani. Other representatives of the academic institutions were the vice-rector for international relations PhDr. Martina Pavlíková, PhD., and official representatives of Saurashtra University Dr. Vijay Deshani and Dr. Jatin Soni. Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, Professor Kamal Mehta, Professor R. B. Zala and doc. Mária Hricková, PhD. were also present.

  

The signing ceremony was held in very friendly and open atmosphere and representatives of both universities expressed their conviction that the signed document gives a unique opportunity for the development of very fruitful and rewarding cooperation. The Memorandum specified collaboration between the Department of English & Comparative Literary Studies (Saurashtra University) and the Department of English & American Studies of Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra. The nature of collaboration would be exchange of ideas and expertise among the faculty of both these departments on the basis of fairness and equality for perpetuation of knowledge in the discipline of literary and critical studies ultimately benefitting the students of both the institutions. The avenues of co-operation include online lectures and webinars, joint publications and joint online courses for the students of both institutions. The activities prepared within the framework of the Memorandum will be supervised and coordinated by dr. Sanjay Mukherjee from Saurashtra University and doc. PhDr. Mária Hricková, PhD. from CPU. Although the signed document specifies collaboration between the mentioned departments, the representatives of both universities openly expressed their wish to extend cooperation so that it would involve also other departments of both universities.
