German Ambassador lectures at Faculty of Natural Sciences
On November 27th, 2019, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Slovakia, H.E. Joachim Bleicker, visited the Institute of Economics and Management at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, UKF Nitra. He was warmly welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Marta Urbaníková.
H.E. Ambassador Bleicker was appointed to his position in 2016. During his official visit to UKF, he gave a lecture on ´The Role of Germany in the European Union´. Students learnt about the history of EU and the role of Germany in its formation. He also explained the functioning principles of EU institutions, the positions of individual countries in approving important decisions and matters which are highly discussed in the EU.
He tackled the issue of the UK's leaving the EU, and migration and environmental policy. In this discussion, students were mainly interested in the future of the European Union and the changes that Brexit will bring.
