Lecture by Professor Khan from Toronto
Prof. Abrahim H. Khan, outstanding Canadian philosopher and UKF's Doctor Honoris Causa, editor of the Toronto Journal of Theology, a member of several editorial and advisory boards - the Journal for the Study of Religion (Cape Town), Burhan Journal of Quran'c Studies (Tehran), Journal in Islamic Studies (Bannu), Xlinguae (Nitra), Constantine's Letters (Nitra), gave a lecture to students from the Department of Journalism at the Faculty of Arts, UKF in Nitra.
The lecture ´The Art of the Shock of the New: Modern Art Trends´ was held under the project of Internationalization on October 16th, 2019 at UKF in Nitra. Prof. Khan mainly discussed authors such as Andrey Bartenev, Alexander Florensky, František Balej and Rabindranath Tagore.
A thriving cooperation between the University of Toronto (Kierkegaard Circle) and the Central European Research Institute of Søren Kierkegaard in Nitra and Prof. Roman Králik has lasted over 10 years. In the Acta Kierkegaardiana edition (Kierkegaard Circle - CERI.SK), were published more than 20 monographs and proceedings with Canadian ISBNs with the participation of authors from the Faculty of Arts of UKF in Nitra, e.g. Dr Andrej Gogora, Prof. Roman Králik, Assoc. Prof. Martin Štúr, Dr Martina Pavlíková, Dr Klement Mitterpach, Assoc. Prof. Jarmila Maximová, Dr Tibor Máhrik, Prof. Dagmar Marková and others.
Prof. Khan's visit contributed to the development of scientific cooperation and preparation of further joint publications. During his stay, he met the Rector of UKF, Prof. Libor Vozár, the Vice-Rector for International Relations, Dr Martina Pavlíková, and Prof. Zdenka Gadušová. They discussed opportunities for further cooperation and started preparing the Erasmus+ KA 107 project.
