Professor from Israel lectured in Nitra

On September 26, 2019, a renowned professor of cognitive psychology, Shulamith Kreitler from Tel-Aviv University (Israel) visited UKF in Nitra again and gave a lecture on Innovation and Creativity, within the activities of the project Internationalization of the Education Process and Academic Environment at the UKF in Nitra. The major point of the lecture was that creativity is increasingly necessary in various domains of current life, reaching far beyond science and art which used to be the common domains of creativity. In the 21st century it has become evident that creativity is an indispensable resource for many other domains of life, including management, family life, parenthood and above all education.
After the lecture, Prof. Kreitler was met by the Vice-Rector for International Relations, Dr Martina Pavlíková. They discussed the importance of creativity and the need for innovative approaches and methods in teaching which can help to educate students effectively and develop their creative thinking. Prof. Kreitler suggested continuing discussing the topic in the on-going cooperation within ERAMUS+ KA 107 project, which is now being prepared for submission.
Professor Kreitler described her current visit: "The enthusiasm and interest of the audience played an important role in turning the lecture into a really inspiring experience, which blended with the fascinating background of the city of Nitra and its enchanting landscape." Professor Kreitler is a professor of psychology at Tel-Aviv University and head of the Psychooncology Research Center at the Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer, Israel. She is a certified clinical psychologist and health psychologist. Her major research focus is psychological risk factors of different physical and mental disorders, quality of life, Alzheimer, CVA and coping. She has taught at the Nursing Department in hospitals and at the University of Haifa and published about 200 research papers and 15 monographs.
