The Ambassador of Georgia lecturing at the Faculty of Sciences
On October 9, 2019 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Slovakia, H. E. Revaz Gachechiladze, visited the Faculty of Natural Sciences at UKF in Nitra. The Ambassador – who is also lecturing as Professor at Ivana Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University – was welcomed by the Vice-Rector for International Relations, Dr Martina Pavlíková, and the Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Prof. František Petrovič.
Afterwards, Ambassador Gachechiladze was welcomed by Prof. Martin Boltižiar, Head of the Department of Geography and Regional Development. The Ambassador gave a lecture to teachers and students of the Department of Geography and Regional Development and the Department of Ecology and Environmental Sciences on ´Geopolitics of the South Caucasus´. The students learnt about the international situation of the South Caucasus region, especially about Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia, with the impact on their geopolitical codes and peculiarities.
After the lecture, H. E. Revaz Gachechiladze met three students from Georgia, his homeland; two students studying at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and one at the Faculty of Education, all under the Erasmus+ KA107 scheme. The students from Georgian Technical University in Tbilisi – the present international partner of UKF under the Erasmus scheme – expressed their great satisfaction with their studies at UKF in Nitra and with the opportunity to meet the Ambassador.
