Meeting Representatives of Piedmont College in USA
The working trip of the Vice-Rector for International Relations, Dr Martina Pavlikova, to the US, was crowned by an invitation from the President of Piedmont College (Georgia, USA) James Mellichamp and the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr Daniel Silber, to a joint meeting, held on May 6, 2019.
At the meeting, they introduced the structures of UKF and Piedmont College. They also outlined opportunities for mutual cooperation between the universities within the Erasmus KA 107 project and academic cooperation in the area of scientific research.
The next day, Dr Pavlikova met Piedmond College staff, namely Dr Hugh Davis (Chair of Humanities), Rev. Tim Garvin Leighton (Religious Studies), Dr Tim Lytle (Philosophy), and Dr Webb Carson (Dr. Harry R. Butman Chair of Philosophy and Religion). They discussed their own personal experiences of international cooperation.
Under the Erasmus KA 107 project, Dr Webb Carson – a long-time collaborator with the Central European Research Institute of Soren Kierkegaard in Nitra - is visiting UKF Nitra in June 2019.
During the business trip Vice-Rector Martina Pavlikova had a meeting with former US President Mr. Jimmy Carter at Jimmy Carter's Presidential Library and Museum in Atlanta.
