Visit of the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China
On April 10, 2019 the Rector of UKF, Prof. Libor Vozár, welcomed the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China, H. E. Lin LIN, accompanied by his wife Madame LIAO Yuancui and the Attaché, Mr ZHANG Jiahui. Dr. Martina Pavlikova, the Vice-Rector for International Relations, the Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Prof. František Petrovič, and the Rector, Prof. Vozár, participated at an official working session where the Ambassador was introduced to the structure of the university, its faculties and fields of study. In his remarks, the Rector expressed China's tremendous contribution to economics, international relations and education worldwide. The Ambassador H. E. Lin LIN informed the Rector about opportunities for bilateral cooperation between the Embassy of the People's Republic of China and UKF, in the areas of education and culture. He outlined several possible levels of cooperation via international exchange stays for students and teachers, organization of Summer Schools of Slovak Language for Chinese students, with an emphasis on Slovak language and culture.
The Vice-Rector for International Relations, Dr. Martina Pavlikova, introduced the Ambassador to cooperation between UKF and China via the Erasmus + KA107 project; bilateral cooperation agreements with academic institutions in China focusing on science, research and education; the membership of UKF´s Gemological Institute of the Faculty of Natural Sciences in the International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA), and finally on the teaching of Chinese language at UKF.
The briefing, characterized by friendship, was finished by the expression of the wishes of Prof. Vozár and H. E. Lin LIN, to develop and deepen mutual relationships between China and UKF. Afterwards, the Ambassador gave a lecture to students from the Department of Political Science and the Department of Journalism at the Faculty of Arts.
