The Ambassador of Ireland visited the University
On November 26th 2018, the Rector of the University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra, prof. RNDr. Libor Vozár, CSc., received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ireland. The Rector informed H.E. Hilda Ó Riain about the organization structure of the University. The Vice-Rector, PhDr. Martina Pavlíková, PhD., acquainted the Ambassador with the Erasmus + project and further opportunities for international cooperation between CPU and Ireland.
Her Excellency expressed the sincere interest of the Embassy of Ireland to cooperate with CPU in cultural events and exhibitions about Ireland. She offered dance and music performances by Irish artists, as well as lectures by Irish scientists on archeology, history, linguistics and translatology.
She showed a great interest in cooperating with the Department of English and American Studies at the Faculty of Arts. Later, she gave students of the Department a lecture entitled ´Ireland – Past, Present and Future´ emphasising education, history and culture.
At the working meeting with the Ambassador of Ireland, was present prof. PaedDr. Zdenka Gadušová, CSc. from the Department of English and American Studies of the Faculty of Arts who informed the Ambassador about her project activities with Ireland.
Finally, H.E. Hilda Ó Riain thanked the Rector of CPU for his warm welcome and expressed her desire for future cooperation between CPU and Ireland.
