6th International Conference on Translation Studies
The 6th international conference on translation studies for PhD students and postdoctoral students named Tradition and Innovation in Translation Studies Research was held on 1st of February at the Faculty of Arts of Constantine the Philosopher University (CPU) in Nitra. The conference was organised by PhD students of the Department of Translation Studies in Nitra under the supervision of Mgr. Andrej Zahorák, PhD. The scientific guarantees of the conference were prominent Slovak researchers in the respective field - prof. PhDr. Edita Gromová, CSc.; prof. PhDr. Daniela Müglová, CSc.; prof. PhDr. Mária Kusá, CSc.; prof. PhDr. Katarína Bednárová, CSc. a Mgr. Emília Perez, PhD.
PhD students and postdoctoral students coming from different universities and scientific institutions (CPU, Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovak Academy of Sciences, Charles University in Prague and University of Ostrava) presented papers on various issues concerning literary translation, specialized terminology, didactics of interpreting and sign language interpreting.
The conference is now a tradition, contributing to domestic and international exchange of knowledge among young researchers and it represents an excellent platform for networking which provides the basis for future cooperation.
