On May 9, 2017 the students of Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, supported by university authorities, took part in the nationwide football tournament “The UCM Rector's Cup” in Trnava. This 6th year of the tournament was hosted by the rector of the University of Cyril and Methodius (UCM) in Trnava.

Each year university selected teams from all over Slovakia take part in the tournament. The 6th edition of the tournament took place in an extremely cold weather bringing together 14 university teams. The UKF team won the tournament in 2014 and always participates with high ambitions.

It was a near miss this year: after losing the finale match with Slovak Technical University Bratislava 0:1, UKF Nitra team took excellent second place.
