The SIR (Scimago Institutions Rankings) is a characterization of institutions formed by three sets of rankings based on research, innovation and web visibility indicators. Institutions have been selected using the sole criterion that they are research institutions with over 100 published works included in the SCOPUS database during the last year of the selected time period. Based on these criteria 12 Slovak universities, including Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, were selected and evaluated among more than 2700 Higher education institutions from all over the world. Among 12 ranked Slovak universities UKF ranked 9th in 2016.
Scimago Institutions Rankings have recently implemented a “Composite Indicator” which combines and weights data from three main areas: research (50%), innovation (30%) and societal impact (20%).
