UKF maintains its university status
The university status of Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra has been formally confirmed by the official letter from the Minister of Education, Science, Research and Sport, Peter Plavčan, dated May 17, 2016. As the letter says, Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra meets all necessary criteria in the field of education, science and research, mandatory for retaining its university status. This final verdict reflects the results of the recently finalized complex accreditation of the Slovak universities and UKF has been granted the university status in accordance with the provisions of Section 85 of the Higher Education Act.
Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra is a modern European type of university currently offering a variety of accredited study programmes at all three levels - bachelor, master and doctoral. As part of their study programmes, students can take an active part in creation of their own study programmes and select subjects not only from the departmental but also from the faculty range of programmes, and even consider inter-faculty and inter-university (national and international) study options. The study is administered by five faculties (Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Central European Studies, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Pedagogical Faculty and Faculty of Social Sciences and Health Care), both in full-time and part-time forms.
