Our university successfully implemented another activity within the EEA project called "Improving Quality of Higher Education Based on Development of Multilateral Institutional Cooperation" on September 12 - 19, 2015. Short-term teaching stays were conducted by the research team from three departments of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra: Department of Mathematics – doc. PaedDr. Sona Čeretková, PhD. (scientific supervisor of the project), prof. Mgr. Anna Tirpáková, PhD., Mgr. Zuzana Naštická (PhD student); Department of Ecology and Environmental Sciences - Mgr. Imrich Jakab, PhD., Mgr. Martin Zemko (PhD student); Department of Physics - Ing. Boris Lacsný, PhD.
Annotated lecture topics are available on the project website below. Language of instruction was English. Lecture topics were discussed with representatives of both partner universities in Bergen and Reykjavik and all lectures met with positive response among students and academics of these universities. Professional as well as social programme was prepared at the departments of mathematics, physics, geography and geology. Research team from our Faculty of Natural Sciences was welcomed by prof. Harald Walderhaug, Vice-dean for education of the University of Bergen, and Dr. Sigmund Selberg, the head of the Department of Mathematics.
During the visit the research teams from both universities discussed potential ways of cooperation in various areas which should result in preparation and signing of the new Erasmus+ bilateral agreement for exchange of students and staff between our universities for the upcoming academic years. Major part of the fruitful discussion was devoted to the project itself, its meaning and importance in the academic life of all participating partners as well as to planning of the further activities within the project.
