Major aim of this project is increase of quality of education both at Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra and its partner institutions according to exchange of know-how in academic field and extend of cooperation within all fields of management work.  Common meeting has brought many inspiring ideas. Programme of the meeting and workshop contained the presentaion of the aims of the project, discussion about individual planned activities and their time schedule as well as administrative and budgetary issues.

 

Project has two lines into which all its activities are sized. First line is strenghtening of scientific cooperation in the field of theory of teaching mathematics with stress on Inquiry Based Learning and intersection relations between mathematics and subjects of natural sciences. Exchange of know-how in the academic field will be performed within doctoral study programe „Theory of Teaching Mathematics“ and within master study programme „Teaching of Academic Subjects – Mathematics in combination“ between Department of  Mathematics of our Faculty of Natural Science, Faculty of Education of the University of Iceland and Institute of Mathematics of the University of Bergen.
Second line is focused on future cooperation among our university and participating partner institutions, i.e. with University of Iceland, Reykjavik, Iceland and University of Bergen, Norway. Future cooperation in this line will start with mapping possibilites of deepening a current institutional cooperation and its progress toward another fields of education, science and management work within all three participating institutions.

 

Project activities are planned for the period of January 2015 – April 2016. One of the project outputs will be publishing of a new university textbook about theory of teaching mathematics. Project participants from Faculty of  Natural Sciences of UKF will attend short-term teaching stay and workshops at partner institutions abroad. UKF will organise two conferences and summer school on theory of teaching mathematics during the project period. EHP Slovakia project brings a significant benefit consisting in personal contacts of all project participants aimed at ensuring a mutual exchange of know-how and information feed-back. Exchange of know-how and valuable information feed-back will contribute to spreading new forms of cooperation between departments and workplaces of UKF and of partner institutions envolved in similar educational and research activities.
