Faculty of Education
Profile
The Pedagogical Institute with 6 departments was established in Nitra in 1959. In 1964 Pedagogical Institute was transformed into the separate Faculty of Education, training students in the field of natural sciences, social sciences and art. During the year 1992 both institutions – the Faculty of Education and the College of Agriculture formed the common University of Nitra. Next reform resulted in the separation of the Faculty of Education and establishment of the College of Education (1992-1996). Within the College of Education, the Faculty of Education has acquired a relatively autonomous position with its own leadership and research bodies, structure and administrative system.
